The idea of a mini session sounds alluring. However, I have found that clients who call for the mini sessions usually end up upgrading to a full session. This way they have the flexibility in timing so that they can get exactly the images they want. Below is a NYC family session, which includes the grandparents who were in town visiting.

What are the Advantages of a Mini Session?

Each session has its own advantages. Mini session is about half an hour long. They are offered under a smaller price point and are limited to one location. It includes beautiful images but a much smaller variety due to the time allotted. It could be a great option for something quick or for a family with older kids and adults.

What are the Advantages of a Full Session?

Full sessions on the other hand offer a Design and Styling Consultation to plan your session, a full custom portrait session 1-2+ hours to accommodate any necessary breaks, and a larger variety of photos. A clothing guide and individual feedback is also included with your full session as well as the option for professional hair and makeup artistry.

Limitations of a Mini Session

While the mini session offers a smaller price point, parents may be concerned with the time limitation. Many feel they will not have enough time to be relaxed in front of the camera to capture their little ones in an authentic way. On the other hand, with a full session, you would have more flexibility and satisfaction that you got exactly the type of images you are looking for. However, the choice is yours.
